Hello and welcome back to our class page!
The sun has popped his hat on at last which means the Summer Term has arrived. We are looking forward to being able to use of beautiful school grounds more this term to enhance our learning. Our topic for the term is going to be World War 2. The boys are excited to learn about all about the war, we will be focussing on the efforts of the land army and replicating their hard work in our allotment. We kick-started the term with a visitor from Dave, a soldier who was injured in Afghanistan, he talked to the class about life in the forces and the boys thoroughly enjoyed hearing his stories and asking him about life in the army.
We are busy preparing for the upcoming SATs test in May, focusing on different methods and strategies in maths and perfecting our reading and comprehension skills in English.
In our science lessons, we will be looking at flowers and plants, studying their parts and describing the function of each element. As well as planting and growing our own vegetables, we will be experimenting with cross-pollination to see what results we get.
The flowers will be useful for our art theme this term, we are reading ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’, so we can replicate the Queen’s desire to paint all the roses red!
The term will be a busy one, as we have lots of exciting events planned, we have sports day, Diversity day and of course of incredible residential trip to Condover Hall. Last term, we completed our art-based topic, Be@rbrick/The Athlete. Take a look at some of the pictures from the term and make sure to keep checking our page for pictures from the events due to take place.
