Springfield House is a Birmingham LA special school.
Our provision is targeted to meet the Special Educational Needs of young people, aged 5 -11, who experience Social, Emotional and Mental health difficulties. Our pupils have with a wide range of complex conditions, including ASC, ADHD, ACE’s and Attachment Disorder. They have also often experienced significant disruption to their education due to multiple school moves, exclusions and periods of part-time or no placement in a school. If you’re a person who enjoys a challenge but wants to see instant results in teaching, changing lives, then Springfield House is for you.
As a school our aim for all our pupils is to provide a high-quality curriculum, that allows our pupils to not simply survive, but thrive in education. We offer individualised support for all our pupils which enable them to learn to value themselves as individuals, as well as develop a sense of themselves in a whole school community and ultimately build the confidence and resilience to allow them to develop a life long love of learning.
We provide a nurturing environment, where we support children to develop strategies for both co and self-regulation. We seek to celebrate successes and achievements to build self-confidence, self-esteem, resilience and understand and accept their own unique selves.

Autism, Sensory & Communication and Interaction needs class
Are you a passionate and reflective teacher who believes every child deserves to feel safe, understood and able to thrive?
We are seeking an outstanding SEND Teacher to join our dedicated team at our primary special school, supporting children with Autism, cognition and learning needs, sensory processing differences and communication and interaction needs. Many of our pupils also have complex life experiences, including Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and a history of trauma.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled practitioner who combines a clear knowledge of adaptive practice strategies with deep empathy and a trauma-informed approach.
